The path to inclusive development.
Do you know what accessibility means in design and development?
By Adrián Benavente, Frontend developer, A11y specialist & coderian ambassador.
It is a series of considerations and implementations that guarantee that our content can be consumed by any human being, regardless of their physical or mental conditions.
The word accessibility is usually abbreviated to A11y -where 11 is the number of letters that are deleted.
To make our website more inclusive, we must apply four basic principles:
- Perceivable
The information must be able to be perceived by all our users through the senses.
- Operable
The components to navigate, perform tasks or consume content must be executable.
- Understandable
Our interface must be consistent enough so that all users can understand it.
- Robust
Our application or site must be able to support a vast number of platforms and technologies, including the assistive ones.
At _coderio we work with technologies that allow us to create accessible and inclusive content. Learn more at: coderio.co
